Masdevallia brachyura.jpg Masdevallias are not my forte, they are unforgiving and unpredictable ,but there are exceptions.
This was a gift from a friend.

Good growing. This is a lovely little species that just isn't around much.

I appreciate your synopsis of Masdevallia, "unforgiving and unpredictable". All the same I love them as I loved the women with the same adjectives.

Spiro, I would also mention that not everyone finds this easy to grow.

Marni,it must not be too difficult if I can grow it; however it did not bloom for several years ,and now I know why! At the time (early summer) that it wants to bloom its usually outside with daytime temps in the 80's+.
This is the first year I moved it to the basement, under lights, along with other things that have not appreciated NY summers(even with all the measures I take) very well.!
