    m.exquisita.2flrs.jpg A good sized flower on this elegant species that comes from moderately high elevations in Bolivia and Peru. I grows well in cool-intermediate as well as cool conditions.

    Yeah, mounted... Wish it would be so easy to take care of! Great looking species though. Marni, have you found a difference between culture of "fleshy" rooted Masdevallias and "thin" rooted? It is not about elevation and temperature, just about adaptability to the our "unnatural" growing environment.

    Alexey, I've never thought about the difference between root size. I'm not always the most observant person. I'm trying to think of species where the roots are thicker than other species in the same size range. Can you tell me some that you think fall into the fleshy rooted ones?
