Have already posted photos of this plant approximately 2 years ago. The plant confirmed to be a good grower and a reliable bloomer. For some reason the species is not well represented in the collections (judging by the low amount of internet photos). Here are the photos of this year blooming.

Lovely species. Its one of my favourites in Masdevallia and you have grown it beautiful. What do you grow it in?

Fantastic, Alexey! What is the temperature range where you grow it?

Approximately 1/2 is non-organic (perlite & chopped styrofoam) and 1/2 is a mix of chopped sphagnum moss and treefern.

Hmm. Marni, if you look at the original 2013 post (link on the page below), at that time it was grown cooler than recommended. Now it spend the entire sumer side by side with Den. subuliferum. Here is a quote from Den subuliferum post: "Den. subuliferum is on the intermediate to warm shelf with some other dendrobiums, mini cattleyas and others, receiving same fertilizing and bright light. Summer temperature often reached 30 degrees on the level of that shelf. Sure, root zone temperature was lower due to evaporative effect of double terracotta potting and constantly moist potting media" Both, Masdevallia and Dendrobium potted in the same media mix, sitting in double terracotta pots in warmer and brighter conditions than one would advise. Species adaptability or something related to the particular clones?

Thanks, Alexey. I tried M tonduzii years ago and it slowly, slowly died. I even had it on a primitive heating mat, which slowed down the decline but didn't stop it. After seeing your beautiful blooming I will probably try again. Perhaps now that I will have warmer conditions I will be happier.
