great little species collected in Costa Rica by Howard Gunn in the late 60's. After it was awarded several years ago I chopped it up pretty good to share with some good growers just in case....Andy tried to set seed, but I guess Max. is hard to self. This is the largest I've ever let it get, going to see how big it will get. A very non fussy plant, never had a bug or given me any grief....

Resize your images before posting them to OI, Kitty. I've already sent you 2 easy to follow tutorials on how to do this. I just sent the links a third time.

ok,it's not that little, it's in a 7in. bowl, the leaves are about 8in. this year it has 17 flowers.I just repotted it last year, I'll wait till it fills the pot before dividing it again. I've been growing it about 10 years, and had always kept it pretty well chopped up, than when it was awarded and I had to send pieces of it to selby for ID I was told how special a plant it is, so I decided to be a little more carefull with it. They told me it only grow's on a certain mountin in Costa Rica and no where else in the world, we haven't been able to get orchids from there since the early 70's. the CHM it was awarded is certificate of Horticulture Merit. Oh, and there is a waiting list for it, I gave a piece to Andy, he said it's flowering really well this year and he may try to set seed again, maybe some day....

Sorry Jon, I'll reread the info and study it till I get it right

Everyone get in line for a division! This is a precious thing - Kitty lets me drool over it once in a while. It really is a pretty plant.
