First time bloomer. The ruby red flower is 0.75" wide
Wow, love that. I think the small Maxillaria are cool.
Nice one. Did a check online, and can't seem to find it available anywhere. Dang.
I got it at WOC from Miranda Orchids but I don't know if they list it on their website.
That's a really nice Maxy, Tom. Great flower size to plant ratio.
Andy's Orchids used to have it a few years back. I purchased one from them at an orchid show. I didn't care for it properly and lost it.
Nice, Tom. How are you growing it? Temps, how much light...
Gordon, for this one, almost everything is medium--medium/intermediate temperature(55-80/85F with seasonal changes), medium light(1800FC+-). I water it almost daily during the warmer months, but every other day during the cooler months. I let the plant dry out slightly between waterings and give it good air movement.
ok, thanks. I have a couple of similar type of Maxillaria that are growing well, but not blooming. Maybe i should reduce their light, as they are hanging high up in my cabinet, right under four 80W T5 lights. We shall see!
Cool plant, Tom!
LOL! Now you lost me a bit. I thought you wanted culture for this species. I have a couple similar species too but... well, what is the point!
Very very nice!
