Mealies on a budding plant

    Yesterday I saw that my Maxillaria tenuifolia has loads of big buds on it and is about to bloom. :clap::clap: But as I was looking at it I also saw that it has mealies on it.:bang::bang::bang: Is there anything I could use to kill these now and not damage the buds or am I going to have to sacrifice such a nice bloom because I don't want to wait for it to finish blooming before I get started on the treatment of the mealies as they propagate very fast.:confused::confused:

    I would try a spray of isopropyl alcohol, straight from the bottle, at the hottest part of the day but in the shade, avoiding the buds, drenching the plant parts. If that doesn't work, systemic insecticides are definitely a good way to go.

    Neyra:: Home remedies for mealy, aphids and thrips: In one gallon of waterrrr dilute one bottle of Iso alcohol 70% + Cleaner 409, mix and spray. Other option shultz 3-1, fungi,insect, bact. It's very good organic product. I hope solve the problem. RLR
