Mediocalcar decoratum care?

The more I think about it, I think my issue comes down to sphagnum as a media. I receive many plants from Nth Aus in sphag and am repotting them into bark or leca, there's little chance my frequency of misting to keep temps down and humidity up will combine well with sphag, and winter's cold weather means the sphag has to be permanently dry or risk black roots taking weeks to dry out. I haven't met many growers using it as a media aside for Stanhopeas in my area. Hoping moving the Mediocalcar to bark gives me better results.
