Membership recruitment drive

In an effort to generate more traffic and posting on OI, I have decided to start a recruitment drive. It will go a little something like this: the person with the most points at the end wins a $100 gift certificate to Andy's (or, if you aren't in the US, a US based OI user of your choice receives the certificate). Here are the details:

Points:
10 points for every person who you refer
3 points for every picture thread that person starts in species or hybrids
1 point for every other post that person makes

Rules:
1. To get credit for the referral, the person must mention your user name in the referral box when registering.
2. Recruitment drive opens immediately and ends at 11:59pm 12/31/08 MST. All registrations and posts that occur before the closing will be counted toward your score. Any subsequent posts will not be counted.
3. The referred person must post at least twice for you to receive any points.
4. You can only receive credit for those people you refer. In other words, if you refer Carl and Carl refers Jack, you only get credit for Carl. Carl receives credit for Jack.
5. In the even of a tie, I'll figure out an equitable solution.
6. Anyone attempting to cheat me out of $100 will be disqualified (i.e. your referral needlessly posts 5 posts in the same thread, you sign up with multiple user names, etc).

Notes:
1. The $100 is coming from my pocket and not the OI operating fund.
2. Be creative in recruiting people. You don't have to know the person to recruit them. Post links to this forum elsewhere on the internet. Tell your societies, trading partners, etc. Just make sure you get referral credit.
3. This is meant to increase membership and posting on OI. Keep to the spirit of that, please.
4. You get 30 bonus points if the person has an orchid named after him/her

 

Um... I started this forum, so you can't count me, MJ. That leaves Dale & Forrest. Half of them started this forum, and the other half woulda scored you roughly 1386 points.

Daily seems like a lot. Frequently is probably more realistic.

22 new users today
3 new users posted
1 new user posted enough to warrant points
13 new users didn't reference a current member for referral credit
