If I mix a batch of Enstar and/or Merit today, for how long will the mixture be effective? I'd like to keep a small spray bottle in the GH to spot-treat plants as needed. Thanks.

    Merit/Enstar degradation

Imidachloprid - check this for details: http://pi.ace.orst.edu/search/showPDF.s?docNum=2#xml=http://pi.ace.orst.edu/search/pdfHL.s?docNum=2

to question: At pH 7, only 1.5% of the initial concentration of 20 mg/L of imidacloprid was •• lost due to hydrolysis in three months, whereas
at pH 9, 20% had been hydrolyzed in samples that were kept in darkness for the same time period

According to this sheet, imidachloprid is apparently stable over long periods of time. Possibly this is why the EU countries treat it suspiciously.

    Re kinoprene - don't know.

In all cases I use SRoT, mix and use. 24 hr max. All mixtures degrade and lose efficacy with time, pH, photolysis, chemical binding and degradation, etc.

Thanks Paul. Sounds like imidacloprid is more persistent than I thought.

yup. i think that's why it's not registered for use on long island as it can easily contaminate ground water
there's a chance i just made this fact up, but i don't think so

It appears that it is stable in the bottle, but I don't think that addresses the question if it persisits once applied.
