    I think they just blacken up. Probably taste like chicken.

    You're probably right. Wonder if they could be brightened up, after being cooked, with some food coloring. That would be quite festive!

    We could probably color them up with some food grade paint. Or we could even gild them in some edible 24K gold paint. (That might be a little gaudy.)

    They DO taste like chicken... yummy in a cream sauce...
    (Sorry DJ...he's gorgeous...and I WOULD hold him given the opportunity!)

    What does yellow mean to your leezard? Don't the different colors mean things?

    Karen, he turns yellow and red when he is really excited...usually when I am feeding him. Relaxed he is green/blue. If he is angry he will puff up get and get black striping. He is very hard to piss off, though...I try sometimes so I can see his other patterns but he is VERY docile!
    Jon, they have a wicked grip. When he is on the same spot for too long he leaves little nail indentations in me. He has never broken any skin though LOL
