Mokara is an artificial (manmade) hybrid generic name that is crossed from three different plants: Arachnis X Ascocentrum X Vanda. There is an almost infinite assortment of colors available.

This particular plant is named Mokara White Christine by the seller. (The actual scientific name is: x Mokara White Christine.) I ordered two plants (bareroot) and potted them into an 8 inch orchid pot, carefully putting the long roots through the bottom of the pot. Mounting the two plants kind of took a long time to do, but I think the pottet plants look good. The plants themselves are very large and tall. There is one 'spike' getting ready to bloom.

I have attached three pictures of the two potted plants and a fourth picture from the seller what the blooms will look like.

I now have four different Mokara plants (different colors). I am sure that they love our Thai extremely hot and humid weather (90 degrees F by 9 AM, 100 Degrees at 3 PM)!

It is lovely. The "x" is used to signify a natural hybrid that comes about when 2 species are involved in the wild and it becomes and established population. Since this in not a natural hybrid the proper name is just Mokara White Christine. For a man made hybrid, both the genus and the cross name are capitalized.
