I saw this in January 2013, growing at approx. 1700 m altitude around the area of the Mt Kinabalu park in Borneo. Notable for the attraction it shows for ants, but I have no idea of the Genus or Species. Hope someone can offer an ID. Unfortunately I only have this one photograph.
    Thanks

looks similar to Eria hyacinthoides, although that doesn't seem to be found in Borneo

Thanks for the thought. In fact according to GBIF data this species is reported from Borneo, although catalogue of Life and GBIF both say the accepted name is Bryobium hyacynthoides. I will look into this a bit more and come to a conclusion (I hope). I can certainly see the hyacinth resemblance that presumably underlies the name.

Those bracts are reminiscent of Pholidota sp.

Thanks very much for this inspired ID. I've spent a lot of time trying to identify this specimen and what you've suggested looks good on any of the sites I've looked at. Delighted to have this problem solved.
