My first Masdevallia

    IMG_0960.JPG This is my first blooming in hot humid Florida from my attempt to have a cool area. I think this one was listed as intermediate by ecuagenera. I am happy to see this as I have no experience with these guys.Maybe just fools luck but I will keep trying.I want to grow odontoglossum crispum as my other goal for the cool area.

    You might want to try potting it in a terra cotta pot. Moss in terra cotta will cool the roots some.

    I second the terra cotta...Steve, how long have you had it? The leaves look real healthy and a cute flower.

    Had it 4 months or so only, but so far so good.I was happy to see a bloom.

    ha, I recognize one of my crosses I shared with Ecuagenera some times ago :) glad to see its flower! with the glandulosa parent it should be fairly heat tolerant I guess.
