    There is information about the new, much expanded publication of the wonderful Compendium that will be available this summer. Here is the link to see what this is going to be like.

    Marni,

    Thank you for sharing the link. I was lucky to be able to get the two-volume set when it was available from the publisher and I use it a lot. From what I see, they are not adding more species descriptions to the new 4-volume set but supplementing it with photographs of the additional 500 species. Do you know if I'm correct?

    I missed out on the original set. Had a chance to get it at a very reasonable price at the POE a while back, but decided not to because I didn’t want to deal with the weight in my luggage...in retrospect, what a mistake! However, I did preorder the new edition. In talking to Ron, he said he is more excited about this edition than the original.

    Yes, he is really pleased with this one and has been really happy with the process. The first one was quite an ordeal.

    There are some new species and genera. The taxonomy has been updated and some misidentifications have been corrected. The captions on each photo will have information about the species that will be useful for cultivation.
