Color Break Virus ? or ?
this is Cattleya Belairensis , it has never bloomed like this before, it has always lived away from the rest of the herd. One bloom on this inflo is normal, the rest are well....trippin on something.

A very classic virus symptom. Trash that plant and save the $5 if I were you.

I suppose you could keep it isolated but would it always bloom out like that? Unless you like the whole tie-dyed look..

I love tie dyed, Tom, as you may suspect. And I've even admired orchids that are bred to show their Dead colors, too. But when a pretty orchid such as this gets to streakin', it always sucks.

I need a new tie dyed shirt. Mine is so old, it's see through!

Dawn, I don't know all the players here, but I assumed you were teasing, nothing to be sorry about. I don't take offense all that easily.

what is the Vector for CBV ?

can i move it to the front porch and let it live out there where no orchids reside ?
or does simply keeping it nearby bode badly for my non tie dyed orchids ??

If it's mine its a goner....the great compost heap in the sky. I wouldn't be willing to risk a bug hopping from that plant in with your other ones...IMHO.
