Anyone ever used NFT Channels for orchids? I'm considering getting some or making some out of PVC pipe and then installing a mist line inside the pipe to water. I figured by misting instead of using a large water flow it would reduce the chance of any viruses and such from being transferred between plants. Idea is to use something like hydroton or expanded shale in a net pot. Thoughts?

As long as the runoff from each spraying is not reused, you will be keeping the cross-contamination possibility to a minimum.

I helped a guy set up such an arrangement for vegetables on a smaller Caribbean island. Their primary concern was to minimize the water consumption.
