Maybe most of you already know that Dendrochilum was included in Coelogyne in 2021. I only saw it last night when I opened the latest issue of Orchids and I must say I was quite shocked.

When I read the article in Orchids I do understand the rationale for the change but it doesn't make it easier for me to accept it.

I read about it in Orchids also and feel the same. I understand and appreciate the logic but thats a tough transition for me.

My tags are not changing. The inclusion of Dendrochilum into Coelogyne did not have to be done to make Dendrochilum distinct (which it is), but to help them better explain some of the other genera and a few outlier species in that were discussed. Treated by itself, Dendrochilum is probably the easiest genus to get correct by both the general hobbyist and the taxonomist and now it is changed to mud! Disappointing that Kew is continuing this trend based on what appears to be convenience and the need to publish.
