I always look forward to this little plant blooming. It makes a very cheery bright spot in the gh and the fragrance is wonderful and strong, like Ivory soap. The plant is typical Oncid. about 6 inches (15 cm) tall. The inflorescence is about 9 inches (23 cm) long and each bloom is just under 3/4 inch (17-18 mm) across. The blooming part of the inflorescence as shown in the photo is about 5 inches.

This species appears to have a broad range of light and temperature tolerance. I have a pot on the floor (shady and cool) of the gh in bloom and a mount up high (very bright and warm) also in bloom.

The plants always do well for me both mounted and potted but I am always surprised by how few roots it has, even on what appear to be very healthy plants .

Looks familiar Kelly! Mine is also blooming quite well. Thanks again. I like how the color seems to ripen after a few days.
