I recently acquired an Oncidium Twinkle Red Fire plant. And have found its parentage to be O. ornithorynchum X O. cheirophorum. But I am also finding the same parentage listed for all color variants of the Onc Twinkle.

I am attempting to determine if Onc Twinkle Red Fire and Onc Twinkle Red Fantasy are the same plant or not.

Also, every Twinkle variant lists the same parentage. Are these simply color mutations from this same crossing?

    Thanks for answering my questions.

Each genetic individual can be given a cultivar name. These cultivar names usually appear in single quotes after the name of the hybrid.

There is a handwritten tag on the plant. It states: Oncidium Twinkle 'Red Fire'. So, you've answered one of my questions, Alfonso Doucette. Thanks! Now to figure out if Red Fire and Red Fantasy are the same cultivar or not.
