    Nice flowers! I understand the leaves are cool too. Do you happen to have a full plant photo?

    Thanks MJ! I tried to get you a photo but it rained all morning and it's all mud back there....I did get a leaf photo from a smaller tree that is not in bloom....it's the white orchid tree.

    That's just fine by me, Jean. When you start talking about undertones and overtones in scents...well, I get lost. I'm of the It Smells Like Grape Soda or It Smells Like a Rose crowd.

    What is the growth habit like on this thing? Is it a tall upright or a short sprawly?

    This becomes a rather big tree. There are a lot of them growing here in my area. They are in bloom right now. I haven't seen the white one though. Only the pink one. There is one on my block.

    They get sorta big if you let them, Short to Moderately tall upright, can get a big crown . They don't like it much below 30F.
    They are very commonly used out this way. I have seen all shades of the Red/Purple/Pink and even White, though it is not as common.
    they finished blooming a good month ago, though i saw a white one with some blooms still hanging on the other day.
