Yeah, you're safe with those eagle eyes on the look out.

They are cute as hell, though. Penny is sporting the ever popular "Princess" bow, isn't she? I see bling.

Yeah, you see bling. Her groomer provided this particular bling and she loves Penny to death. You also see a dog who can hardly walk and we don't know why. Maybe an appointment with our vet tomrrow will tell. She has always had a luxating patella and it looks like it is evolving, shall we say. I'll keep you posted. She is so sweet, she doesn't deserve to hurt. I hurt for her.

Oh no, poor darlin'. I hope the vet is helpful.

My Lucy girl is growing thin and has become lethargic in a short amount of time and I don't know why either although I have my suspicions. None good, by the way. She'll go to the vet's this week. Danged ole pets anyway.

    Luck with your Penny!

Luck with your Lucy, too. Danged ole pets is right. Keep me posted and I'll do the same.

    Cute dogs, Ann.

I hate hearing about pets hurting. I hope the vet trips go okay for both of you.

We went from hardly walking to not being able to use her hind legs at all this morning. She's at the vet and they have done X-rays, waiting for the vet to look at them. I am a basket case.

Oh Ann, hang in there, darlin'. I'm betting the vet will have her right as rain again in no time.

She's having back surgery this afternoon. We have a very good neurology vet here in town who will do a myelogram and then the surgery. I'm SO glad I've been paying for this insurance since we got her.

Hey, MJ. How's Lucy, btw? The doctor just called. She said she was very very happy with "your little girl. She has a good tail wag and is moving her hind legs." She told me last night it could take as long as two weeks before she would walk again but it looks like it won't take that long. I'm going over with her food and to groom her little face before it gets ahead of me. Thanks for all your good vibes. I really appreciate it.

She's home. Not walking yet but managed to pee outside when I carried her out. On a muscle relaxant and antibiotic for a couple of weeks and prednisone for a couple of weeks tapering down on that one as we go. Thanks again for all your thoughts.

Yippee! Penny is in da house!! I'm tickled to death for you, Ann, and for Penny!

I take Lucy tomorrow, vet's been out of town and I don't like any of the others at the clinic. I'll let you know what he says.

Again, YIPPEE!!!! Penny is in DA HOUSE!

    I'm gonna have a beer.

I love you, Mary Jane! I'm having a martini. I tend to love everyone when I'm having a martini.

I'll tell you what, I was really concerned that this was something that couldn't be fixed. Waiting for reports yesterday was beyond horrible. They take your pet, you go home, and I expect phone calls every 5 minutes. Ain't gonna happen, but I find myself looking for reasons to call THEM. Never find any, but I look like hell for them.

Good luck with your little Lucy. Let us know.

Well, according to the vet, I just worry too much and shouldn't play vet at home.

Lucy is fine, no intestinal problems, no feline leukemia. No tumors, no impending death. Just old age, I guess. To celebrate, I bought her a treat, canned food. She gobbled it down. I also picked up a new toy for her and she carried it all over the place last night.

Wow!!! Excellent news, Mary Jane. We ALL play vet at home, thanks to the internet. That's great news! Thanks for the update. LOL about the new toy. They love new toys. You're a good mommy!

Penny is still not walking but when I use a towel sling under her tummy she uses her left leg. The right leg improvement will lag behind a little because most of the spinal cord damage was on the right side. She moves both legs, though, so it's just a matter of time. We won't discuss the pee/poopy situation, however. I use lots of wet wash cloths and the occasional trip to the bathroom sink.
