    Found this guy hanging around out on the the street when I rolled out the garbage can. He is a Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. He has been hanging aroud there for a couple of hours. I have seen this species out in the National Forest by the hundreds.

    He was puddling on the street. It had rained about 2 hours prior to the photo.

    Ah, they do like them a mud puddle. I remember telling my husband I wanted a mud puddle for the butterflies a few years ago.

    Let's just say I was underwhelmed by his enthusiasm.
