    WOW. Another orchid that I never heard of before. What is a Phaius? I will have to research it. What a strong erect stem! The flower is amazing! Very different (to me) type of orchid.

    They are terrestrial orchids Greg. We call them anggrek kelapa, coconut orchid, due to the looks of the leaves. Resemble young coconut leaves.
    Yes, the stems are quite sturdy.
