I have both blooming now...very tiny blooms on young plants. Do you suppose as the plants grow and mature that the blooms will be just a bit
larger as well? These ole eyes don't focus like they used to do and I'd
hate to miss such little jewels.

Yes Jon, I have used a magnifying glass, but they're still almost impossible
    to see detail.

Those are some pretty sweet species, Angela. If you decide they're too small, may I have them? :)

Jon, let me try binoculars first. Then I'll let you know. What you got to trade or are
    you asking for freebies?

I'm always looking for a handout, Angela. :)

j/k. I always have a lot to trade. You like Maxillarias? Laelias? Non-stinky bulbos?

Got any Phal. species I don't have? I like Laelias, but they don't care for me much.

Where's Dale? He usually has a lot of information on such Phal. species and other
    obscure stuff.

I have that phal violacea I was going to send you, but since I already said I'd send it, I can't offer it to trade.

I have a violacea and a bellina mounted on a sphagnum tube thingy. The bellina is
doing beautifully with very large blooms and a healthy spike. The violacea is getting a
bit grumpy with night time lows around 63F. Both plants were the same size when I
bought them last summer. The bellina seems to be the more tolerant of the two about
temps. so far. I take it personally that any orchid with violacea in the name hates me.

I see which 2 species you have there Angela... I grew Florencis(sp) for awhile--but it wasnt mature enough to bloom... I would send you to Jay's site to read up on flower size... they usually have a measurement there. Does Irma post here? She would know approx bloom size... Ed Merkle is a good Phal info source too... I think I would definately keep them another year...both worthwhile species!

I'm gonna keep 'em as long as they will live, but I am curious about bloom size. I've
been to Jay's and done a bit of research here and there, but this particular issue wasn't
addressed in any of them. I'm just going to buy another magnifying glass for the greenhouse, I guess.
