Any orchid can be grown any way, if you put enough effort into it to meet the plants needs.

Personally, I use mounting primarily for plants that I know I can give more "dry time", and I wouldn't put a pleione in that category.

Maybe not mounted but what about vertically potted?

Like in a net pot or plastic pot with the plant growing out the side instead of the top.

Gotcha! Yeah, that's a good approach for many plants, but don't pleiones normally grow upward?

That's okay I was just curious. How shallow of a pot can it be? I have a 1.5 inch deep clay pot(water tray), and a few 2cm deep aluminium trays I thinking of using. But if not I will go by a deeper dish( I don't want to deep of a dish, fear of rotting them away)

I have always grown them in standard pots - depth about 125% of height.

Some research is telling me that they are cool growing orchids and should not be in temps exceeding 75 F. Is this true?

Got me... They have certainly gotten warmer than that in my greenhouse.
