Pleurothallis schiedei

    This cool-growing miniature sized species occurs in Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. It can be found at altitudes of 1800-2400m. The plant grows to about 3-4cm and the flowers 8-10mm.

    The ornaments on the flower are likely to be wax excretions. They are very sensitive to wind and static electricity.
