POE looks amazing this year. Marni's display is particularly awesome. I hope everyone who can make it comes down.

O.k. Karen and Candace, what did you find to buy? Karen, I rarely
do the BIG shows twice. I find I'm too damn lazy to do the flying
thing and trying to get my purchases back safely. I hope the two
of you had a Big Time!

My imports are soaking at the moment, so I can't get names. Let's just say I restrained myself this year. I think I only bought 6 or 7 plants. Mostly species with one or two hybrids thrown in. There seemed to be a lot more people there on Fri. this year. Fewer vendors, but I can understand that with the ecomony woes. All in all another great show. Marni's display was wonderful!

Pictures and list, please! I bet you're more motivated to get that greenhouse rolling again. ;-)

It certainly is. Very inspirational for us angraecoid folks. Here's a few of the things I picked up Thursday and Friday (a couple of them were pre-orders).

    Aerangis appendiculata
    Aerangis luteoalba v. rhodosticta
    Aeranthes grandiflora
    Aeranthes peyrotii
    Amesiella philippinensis
    Angraecum arachnites
    Angraecum distichum
    Angraecum erectum
    Angraecum linearifolium
    Angraecum rutenbergianum
    Angraecum sesquipedale
    Cattleya araguaiensis
    Laelia lundii
    Mystacidium pusillum
    Mystacidium venosum
    Phalaenopsis schilleriana
    Tridactyle tricuspis
    Vanda Sansai Blue

Got to meet the Botanica folks. Very nice family and a fantastic addition to the show this year. I hope they become regulars.

    Jon, I'm jealous.
I had hoped to go this year but didn't. Bummer. I just came back from a short vacation and didn't want to drive that far. I'm putting next year's show on my calendar so I can plan way in advance for it.

Any reports? Pictures? Looks like there weren't many vendors this year from what I've seen in EricInSF Flickr's. So sad!!!

I don't bring my camera to the show. I have to admit getting rather irritated by all the folks staking claim to prime spots in front of exhibits and stopping the flow of people. I think POE should be like many other big shows and have a "camera" time for photographers so people aren't tripping on them constantly. Grrrr.

There were lots of vendors there that were local, national and international. One of the vendors had a problem with his paperwork and wasn't able to clear in time for the show. There were one or two more booths with "sponsors", which I suppose is a necessary evil in this economy, and there is still a waiting list for vendors.

There will probably be a photographer's morning next year, at least it is being discussed. But that probably won't stop people from doing it during the show.
