Can anyone tell me what this is? I water once a week, so I don't think it is overwatering, but honestly not sure. The back of the leaf has none of the spots, only browning. 20231028_111624.jpg

Just adding to my post...I am new to orchids. I believe this is a phalaenopsis Orchid.

    Hi, Margaret.

Yes, it is a phalaenopsis. It looks to me that an infection began at the leaf tip and is progressing inward.

I would remove the damaged tissue, cutting about 1/2" into the apparently unaffected part, the use a q-tip to dab cinnamon powder on the wound, as that will seal the cut and prevent additionals infection.

I would add to Ray's good advice, use a sterile cutting tool. A single edge razor blade is a good choice. You can throw it away and not worry about infecting another plant by using it again.
