Red jumping spider

    Phidippus johnsoni - the only spiders i really like are the Jumpers - here's one hanging out on some spanish moss - taken about 1 month ago

    Incredible! Jumping spiders are one of my favorite types of animal, though I also can't say I'm too fond of other spiders.

    So, from the front that spider actually looks cute! Which, no offense to the spider lovers, I didn't think was possible. They tend to give me the heebee-geebees. :) But that one is fascinating. What a face!

    I totally agree. Jumpers are the *only* spiders that don't creep me out. Well....I guess the really tiny ones don't but all the rest....no thanks. We've had a black widow population explosion in this city this year. :eek:

    Jumpers need to be carefully watched. They jump, ya know. And they'll jump yo butt if'n you're not careful.
    This one is clearly a proud and noble beast..
