    Ecuagenera or Mundiflora?

I have plants from both and I have no complaints but I have to choose one to place an preorder. I have preordered from Ecuagenera but not from Mundiflora. Normally, I have a number of items and that could have swayed me but I only have one in consideration (the rest will be impulse buying-or not-I think I've grown out of the acquisitive phase). I've been scouring both price lists but nothing is calling me.

    Do you have a preference?

Wow...that’s a tough one! I have found that Ecuagenera’s plants have been getting larger in recent years, but Mundiflora had some real choice miniature Pleurothallids that looked real good that I bought at the POE back in February.

They both seem to have good plants. Ecuagenera visits here more frequent than Mundiflora, so I would probably get from Mundiflora. Which show is Mundiflora coming to next and when?

Thanks but now I'm reluctant to order from either.

I was looking for Ornithidium ruberrimum/Maxillaria ruberrima. Mundiflora's reference pic looks very orange and reading Chuck's post here doesn't sound like Ecuagenera's is correct, either (also, their stock is cooler growing). I really don't have the space so I try not to get plants that are questionable.

San Francisco has a Summer show (July 21-22), much smaller than POE.

Chuck, you travel cross-country for POE? That's dedication!

Yes...the current holy grail ! I have no idea why the true ruberrimum is not available? What I learned earlier in the year is that the plant I have and what is being sold as ruberrimum is jamesonii. I know Tom Miranda, Andy (Andy’s Orchids) and others are looking for it...but no luck so far.

I will say I have been fortunate to have a business trip to the west coast in February off and on for many years (and I think the last 3 in a row). Not only have I acquired a lot of great plants over the years, but have made a ton of long lasting Orchid friends. I have frequent flyer miles saved up so am going back out to The Bay Area to coincide with the Pleurothallid meeting at the end of July.

If Andy and the Smithsonian can't get it, who can?
