Wow! Rollin, you did some damage! I had to use my self control and left with 5 plants...there is a lot of temptations this is true. Since I am less experienced than many I ask for help selecting things for the beginner that would grow in my environment. The things I was drawn to were of course the things that required conditions I'm not set up for...but I'll be working on those conditions. I plan to visit again in June. Andy and the staff there are great! ( I also had already gotten 7 plants at the orchid show prior to my stop there)

Well,Rolling...I didn't do as much damage...but then I'm a beginner and don't want to kill a bunch of plants. I also had to pack them in my suit case, so I got 4The ones I was drawn to were the ones I didn't have the right conditions for, right now! But I plan on going back to visit in June and then in the Fall. my son lives a little over an hour for there so it will be fun to see what's blooming each time. I only got 5 orchids and a hand full of Spanish moss for a friend. I got 6 plants at the show in Westminister. So far everyone is doing well.

Thanks Tom and Marni. Coming from you're collections I feel a bit validated with the financial setback. There were MANY things that I could not pry from Andy that I tried in good faith. The rest of the stuff I wanted you (Marni) had already picked up in SF, which is just how it goes sometimes. Plus another guy from CA bought every single Paph species from Manote, which was good fom him and crap for me. Hopefully I can get a preorder into him and Katai for Redlands. The have some very rare stuff. Also if anyone (Tom perhaps) may want anything from Andy/Phuphaman Orchids in Thailand, they can also get the plants to Katai if you give them proper notice. Katai said they are good friends and about an hour away from each other. Tom- I am still working on the Bulb. repens. I am hoping they can come in for the Redlands. I will take the risk and purchase a few if you are still on the hunt.

And by the way, those who may not know or have dealt with Katai Phrao before (Chiang Mai, Thailand) she is excellent to deal with and always a pleasure to speak with. By far she is one of the most consistently happy people I have ever talked to.

    [QUOTENice haul, Chad. I'll take #10, #11 and #33.:p][/QUOTE]
I wouldn't have expected any less! I guess the vex. was the first piece Andy said that he has ever sold, which originated from Ron Parson's a while back, so I guess we win a few here and there.

Andy. Seedling size for far cheaper than the $200 price tag on some.

Zach- I got it from Tropical Exotique. It wasn't until after I ID'd a number of his pics and chatted with him for a bit that he pulled it out of a box under the table. It is not in the best condition but it looks like its perking up. He actually gave me this and a few others for about $5 each. I certainly can't complain.

In the summer months it gets into the 90's during the day occasionally. On average for the majority of the year mid 80's during the day low 60's at night. As long as it's moist it does well. I can't notice a difference in growth rate when its cooler.
