ScienceLab.com and Flasking Equipment: BAD

    If you need chemicals or lab equipment for your flasking operation, save yourself a lot of grief. Don't do business with ScienceLab.com, 14025 Smith Rd, Humble, Tx 77396. 281-441-4400

    In this last year, I have started a flasking business to produce orchids from seed. In the course of that endeavor I ordered 3 items (test tube racks) from SicenceLab.com on August 3, 2010. In October I realized that I needed test tube racks and assumed that I had never ordered them since I didn't have them. So I went ahead and ordered them again. As soon as I hit send, I realized that I had bought from them before, checked my credit card statement to verify and found that I had been charged in August. I called the company the next business day and they were very apologetic that the order had never been shipped, cancelled the most recent charge and said they would ship it. Several weeks later I did receive a package with 2 of the 3 items. However both of the items shipped were not what I ordered. I called and they said they would send out a call tag with UPS and cancel the order so I would get a refund. 4 weeks later, many, many phone calls about this and the package was finally picked up. Now, many weeks after they confirmed that the return arrived, I am still calling frequently to find out why my account hasn't been credited. Lots of apologies, no credit. I am told the message is being passed on to the proper people, but I never get that call back. I am fed up and want others not to have to go through this experience. There are lots of other companies that sell the same items who know how to do business.

    Oh man. Sorry to hear it, Marni. Hopefully we're not talking a lot of money here. I hope they get their shit together and make it right.

    Marni, you can put the charges in dispute with the credit card company. You won't have to pay a dime...

    I took until mid-January and over 25 phone calls (I am persistent if nothing else) and they finally refunded my money for the items I returned. It had been so long since the purchase that they said they couldn't issue a refund on my card, had to send a check (which took another 10 days to get)!
