Recently my tolumina sprouted a seed pod, after much research I have decided to try my hand at attempting to grow from seed..
I unfortunately let the seed pod go too long and it cracked open so now I am going to have to sterilize the seeds beforehand...but hopefully this weekend I plan to get the agar media put together and give it a whirl I hope to keep posting success stories [emoji2] but we will see uploadfromtaptalk1411611280266.jpg

From what I can see, it seems the pods are empty. Maybe the whitish material in the middle "line" can contain some fertile embryos, but a fertile pod would have contained a lot of greenish to white seeds inside!

Hmm...well I'll still give it a try. If anything it will be good practice for future attempts. I also have a seed pod starting on one of my phals now that I pollinated myself

It appears you were right pacome after the seed pod dried there were no seeds to my observation but I still tried to put the "line" in the germination media just to hopefully maybe get lucky. Also to practice for later attempts...I kinda wanted to see how good my sterile technique was. I have 2 extra flasks left over...assuming they don't get any contaminated how long would they be good for? My question is would I be able to use them for the phal seed pod that would be ready in about 6 months?

If your flasks are made of glass or polycarbonate and have a good closure, the unused flasks should last. If you see the medium pulling away from the side or getting lower you have lost water from the medium.
