    Hi

I have a very small green house covered with 70% shade cloth. I leave the top of the greenhouse open to allow for airflow. Daytime temperatures are currently around 15 degrees. Should I be shutting the greenhouse? Is there any changes I should make over winter? I am mainly housing dendrobiums, sarcochilus and cattelyas.

I am desperate for some of these babies to bloom in spring.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Your plants look quite healthy. How many Winters have you used this greenhouse. I ask as I would think they would like a little warmer daytime temperatures (22 - 27 C perhaps) on average. What do they see for night temps? I would think 12 - 14 C would be ideal.

Would also be good to check with local growers you have near you.

Currently experiencing daytime temps at a maximum of 17 degrees and nighttime temps of around the 10 degrees. Most of them are actually cold grown orchids having been grown down in Mornington Penninsila. This is the first winter using the greenhouse. Prior to that, a lot of them have been kept undercover at the side of my house.

Just started experimenting with the greenhouse and attempting to achieve optimum conditions.
