Here's about 1/4th of my outdoor growing area - this is mostly species here, theres a couple random hybrids like the Elizabeth Anne in the right above the Stanhopeas and Acinetas. Also note that I was in the process of moving around those baskets in the right around, so they don't stay on the ground, it just looks like that. I just happen to have a picture of this, if I find the other parts i'll post them. I got the gridwall for cheap off craigslist, after seeing andy's show setup a couple times I decided to rip it off.

Neat growing area, thanks for sharing a photo of it. Have you ever had trouble with your gridwall not tipping during strong winds?

The motivation for using the grid wall was actually strong winds. I was having all of my plants blow over all the time, so I decided I had to hang as many as I could. I live on the edge of a canyon, and our winds get very fierce during storms.

All of the panels are attached to each other at several points via either belt ties or other more permanent solutions (I used the screw loop system that they use for plumbing). IMO, the key to the stability of the whole thing is the triangle shelfs at the bottom. They also helped define the regular 45 degree intervals that give me a lot more surface area and microclimates than I would have otherwise.

I will be adding some conduit to it all in the near future. I still have a lot of space to hang stuff, and with some rearranging I could easily double the amount of plants in that space. But for now it works.
