Anone know what this little cutie is? It was about the size of the end of my pinkie finger. He/she kept climbing up on my leg as I was sitting watching hubby fishing. The weather was cool and I thought maybe it was trying to keep warm....every time I flicked it off it would climb back. It could jump a fair piece as well.

That, Dear Wendy, is a Canuckistanian Fierce Spider. Ummm.... have you ever thought about using a little skin lotion once in a while? Probably wouldn't take too much.

Wendy, its a Jumping Spider (Salticidae). There are about 5,000 species of jumping spiders worldwide...about a hundred or so in North America. They are completely harmless. Some are very colorful and irridescent. If you ever get a chance to look one in the face with a close-up lens they can look quite cute and humorous.
