spikes growing in the wrong direction?

    so far 2 of my spiking orchids, Phal schilleriana and Rhinerrhiza divitiflora are spiking in the wrong direction, with the spikes bending and heading back towards the mount. the plants are facing the sun so the spikes seem to be aiming away from the light, normal?
