I bought this as wardii, but I think it's nigroviolacea?
And of course, while trying to work out a way to hang it so I could get a decent photo of my first ever stanhopea blooming with my good camera, I dropped it and broke one of the flowers. So here is a crappy photo of my broken stan

I love Stanhopea. It will bloom again and with more flowers, Tracey. Fear not.

Oh. Well, I'm glad you saved one flower, anyway. It's very pretty.

That was my second guess. I still like it, or rather what's left of it :(

I've never had such a strong smelling orchid. I realised it had opened before I even got near the shadehouse. I have no problem with you moving this to the hybrid area by the way.

Did you hear the pop when it opened or were you sleeping of... I mean sleeping in?
