Still haven't settled on a name for this; it bloomed on one spike in february with 15 flowers; it now has one spike open with 10 flowers and two more spikes coming. I treat it exactly like the others that don't bloom. Who knows? The about 3" flowers are on a plant about 36" high from the tip of the tallest leaf to the bottom of the inflorescence. Though the flowers only last about five days, it's a joy to see and smell, and is well worth the large amount of space it takes up. It is continuing its perverse, longstanding habit of blooming between meetings, so no-one else ever gets to see it.

Great! If it is sp it has some similarities to Stanhopea peruviana, but your flowers are open too wide...

Looks more like an S. anfracta to me. The hypochile of S. peruviana has a different sinus opening and the underside lacks the thick edge apically.

    Hello to all members ...
I am new to this Forum.
    ---------------------------

There is uncertainty whether the above photograph shows S. anfracta or S. peruviana.
My question is : what's the difference between the two ?
    Cheers,
    Stanhopeus.
