I bought this as Stereochilus dalatensis, but the lip is quite different on that species. I am pretty confident of the name, but am open to other opinions.

Marni, I think it was labeled correstly. The growth, flower form and lip shape of my S. dalatensis look just like yours.

That is a beautiful plant and it is the biggest one that I have seen so far.

Tom, mine came from Andy and I know others who have gotten it labeled that way. A friend I respect told me it wasn't Stereochilus, but Sarcoglyphis comberi. This may take a bit of digging on my part, because now I'm not so sure.

I did some more research and I believe that it is as originally labeled, Stereochilus dalatensis. So do I try to change the title of this thread?

Wow, that is way cool! Speaking of cool, what are its growing temps?

I think you should change the title, so others can find this thread if they're doing research on this orchid.

Thanks, glad you like it. And thanks especially to Tom for helping with the ID.

Alexis, I am growing it intermediate with moderate light (moderately bright in winter), year round water (daily for much of the year) and fertilizer, gentle air movement. It has been on the mount about 4 years and I think it is time to remount on to harder wood as it is staying too wet, I like it to dry between waterings.
