I bought this plant at SBOE in August(?) from a vendor who I had never purchased from before. So far many of the labels have been bogus. The plant has 4 spikes on it and should open in the next few weeks. I'm searching for photos of the plant and or flowers to match it to and haven't had any luck. I'm having problems accessing jay's site and there aren't any awarded ones in Orchid Wiz. Anyone have a photo or a link to one? I can't even find the species listed for sale anywhere.

I got nothing. I found a few synonyms, but they turned up nothing as well. All I can find is that it comes from Assam in Eastern India.

I didn't catch his name, but lots of bareroot, healthy species. I'd never been to the SBOE before so am unfamiliar with the regular vendors there. But it seems like the vendor took all the tags, through them up in the air and played with them:> So, if this was typical of Hans, then it probably was. I got a terete vanda labeled as something else. A dendrobium species name that isn't correct, a schoenorchis that will need to be bloomed out to see what it actually is and this plant. I'm hoping it's correct, but we'll see.

It's got 4 spikes now and I'm sure I don't already have it. I'll post photos when it opens.

says Stereochilus ringens is synonomous with S. wattii.

    S. watti is treated in Indian Orchids - Guide II by Pradhan. Plant and flower illustrations are included in the treatment. If you're panting to know what S. wattii looks like I'll photograph the page for you.

Thanks Dale. I don't have to see it now. As long as you have a picture handy, when it blooms you can tell me if it's real or an imposter.
