Cause Morty is getting a lot of attention over the last couple of months, I thought Talin deserved some photos posted of him ... - I'm pretty sure I've not posted these before - but forgive me if I have (I forget sometimes where I've posted different things)

My boy Tal will be turning 10yrs old in December this year  ... I can scarcely believe that its been that long .... he was my first animal (aside from the usual fish) .....

So here is Talin aka Spazmo-the-monkey-cat or Tally-bear (depending on his mood) - our Ebony Oriental-Shorthair ...

OMG, he's so regal looking! He's beautiful, but I'm guessing he can be quite ornery. He has that look about him. How much does he weigh?

Well he is certainly becoming more "old manish" as he is getting up there in age so the stubbornness and the crankiness is there more frequently ...... but thats ok, he has earned that right ..... we clearly make sure Mort knows that Tal is higher than him in the pack so harmony reigns in this house ..... Tal was a very spoilt cat for many years being here alone with us .... now he has to share and thats been a big thing for him over the last 6mths ... but he is getting used to it

He weighs in at the moment at 4.6kgs (thats just over 10lb) and he is 82cm (thats 32 inches) from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail ...... so he's a long cat but quite lean

We are actually drawing up plans for an outdoor kitty run to give him some more access but still remaining contained and safe ... once the run is finished then we will be getting another kitten to join the family - a little male Abyssinian I think will be a nice addition

I just can't believe he is getting to be such an old man ... he was 12 weeks old when he first came home to us and I think only a year old when I first started posting on the OS..... how old is Carl now then? he's only a few behind Tal isn't he

I don't think I've ever known a cat who could look at two things at the same time.

Looks to be quite bendy, which I've always thought was a big plus in a cat.

Gawd, Fee, I dunno...Carl is maybe 6 years now? I'll have to check his records.

He doesn't like to be reminded of his age, beauty like his is ageless, doncha know! LOL.

He's quite handsome. I do love those eyes...they add to his personality.

I was just going to comment on those mysterious eyes and then noticed those
outstanding ears. I like big ears and black coats with sparkles. I've noticed that
outside the US, the triangular faces seem to be preferred along with the long, bendy
body. We seem to like the round faces here in the states and nice, chunky bodies.

Oh, I watched a cat show and found the cat I want. I think it's called Occicat maybe?
A cross of ocelot and Bengal possibly. Anybody got any info. on the breed and maybe
    the correct name.

Yes we do seem to see more of the newer types of the asian cats rather than the rounded face ones - Tal's mum was a lovely Seal Point Siamese (new style) and his dad was a Tabby Oriental Shorthair .. I've actually never seen an Oriental Shorthair from an apple head origin they are all quite pointed ....

Tals mum and dad were both Australasian Grand Champion cats as is his brother Na-nook and I think 1 sister went to go on to breed a few champions as well ... so the pointed style is definitely the direction the judging is going ....

Last time I was at a cat show I don't remember seeing any applehead siamese competing - all were the angular/pointed style :)
