Took all the orchids outside yesterday. They will stay in the shadehouse until fall and grow like crazy. Happy plants. Got most of my veggies in the garden. It was a great day outdoors yesterday!!!! Who else is moving them out? Who put in a garden this year?

The weather app says it will dip to 37 degrees F on Monday and Tuesday here, but after that I'll take them out. I usually "mesh" the mounted ones into the short trees. Then if they bloom I can casually surprise the neighbors with, "Oh, look in that tree!" The potted ones sit on benches so the critters can't crawl into them easily, cool loving ones sit in a shallow fountain in the shade garden, and sun loving ones sit in the front yard where it is very bright.

Zone 6b here in NY. I've moved all orchids out in the back yard today.
Small, cool growing ones in a "cage" I've constructed ,with timed misting twice a day, not on the plants ,but just to increase the humidity.
Good luck to all this year.

I've been growing a Mystacidium capense outside for a couple months now. I do live in a fairly warm place though. I just saw root tips emerging from the moss on the mount. Excited for it to get warm and watch root growth.

Well, Mother Nature decided to play a naughty trick on me. A few nights in the 30's. So, everyone made the trip back to the greenhouse and will stay there for a few more days.
