This is not my plant but I am going get a division of it soon if it won't cost me an arm and a leg.
Based on those photos my friend sent me, I think it is Trias cambodiana but it may be Trias nummularia as well. What do you guys think?

Trias cambodiana isn't a recognized species name. I don't know enough about other trias species to help ID this one, though. Please ask your friend for culture advice, as my plant of this particular speices is not doing very well.

Way too early, Forrest. That witch didn't say yes or no when I begged her for a piece of it on the phone, but she said she would bring the plant for me to look at it. I might have to open a bottle of wine when she comes to see me next week.

I found a description of T. cambodiana and it talks about the petals being edged with purple, which this is and also that the lip is three lobed and arching, with a channel. That sounds like your image above. But when I look at the few images of T nummularia on the web (they all seem to be the same flower) it kind of looks right too. I can't tell if it is the angle of the photo. Put succinctly: I don't know. Hopefully someone else knows more.

Jon, she grows it in the warm gh(more like intermediate in that part of gh since it is about 8-10 feet from the cooling pad). Medium/bright shade. I know she waters everything on mount daily.

Marni, the flowers of both species look very very similar to me too. I think the Pbulb and leaf shape are different though. From her photos, I can't tell what the pbulb really looks like.

She didn't say anything about the size. I guess the flower is ~1"
Actually, I saw that plant this past summer and I was commenting how nice it was growing for a Trias. but I barely remember what the leaf and pbulb look like now. It is a minature(not much description, LOL).

The flower on mine is around 5/8" laterally.

    Thanks for the culture, Tom.
