I have one of these that, vegetatively, is doing great. The plant is beautiful and growing and definitely large enough to bloom ... but it hasn't bloomed. My gh is intermediate and I have this plant mounted on tree fern, shady, getting year-round water. For an idea of conditions I have it hanging between Dryadella simula and Pleurothallis truncata. The Pleuro is young and hasn't bloomed (looks good and is thriving) but the Dryadella blooms.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to get this species to bloom? I would grow it for the foliage alone but the blooms will be a real plus.

I am surprised you have trouble with this species. It is as easy as it could be... I put it in a worse spot this fall due to space issue... and the plant has hudreds of flowers now.

You guys really know how to make a person feel bad.:D After my original post I placed it in brighter light. It's hard to say if that helped but at least I have a few blooms now. Currently there are perhaps a dozen blooms. I'm still open to suggestions. Anyone? Anyway here are a few photos.

At least it is a really nice plant. For me that is more important since it is one of those plants that I will grow for foliage.

Can this be mounted with reindeer moss?

What are you mounting it on? Cork, tree fern, stick? To get this species established you will want good moisture retention. I have never used reindeer moss but hopefully someone can help you.
If you have sphagnum moss I would certainly recommend that in conjunction with tree fern.

I have mounted it on tree fern with sphagnum but I was wondering for in the future.

I had to look up what reindeer moss is, and as per common names what I found it to be was a lichen. I wouldn't mount anything using a lichen.

    Thanks, Anna.
That photo is from 2011. It is MUCH larger now but never flowers. I enjoy the plant for it's habit and foliage and appreciate it even if it never flowers again. I suspect it wants cooler nights than I can give it in order to bloom but the plant is loving life

Here is a recent photo (July). The second photo shows the mass of roots under the foliage near the mount.

It has grown fast for me. I have taken at least 10-12 cuttings from it, too. But, as I said above, the last blooms were in 2011 and that was just a few.

Perhaps it is the clone rather than any environmental factor? I've not bloomed mine either. Which is not a problem since the plant is pleasant enough for the foliage like you said. If someone figures it out though! I'd definitely like it to flower as well.

I've had similar experiences with this species: easy and fast growing, not so willing to bloom. It has been described as shy blooming.
