Two Trichoceros species

    We found these two species alongside the road in Ecuador. Sometimes the first one was growing in amongst cactus plants.

    I don't know what their specific names are. Each flower is about 1".

    The one time I saw them in situ they were in a sandy open soil growing as terrestrials. However, in the greenhouse they do best for me without any media. Were these attached to something or in the ground?

    They were in the ground and it was a loose sandy soil just as you describe.

    Nice! possible Trichoceros onaensis and Trichoceros hirtzii
