    Guarianthe aurantiaca. Common synonym is Cattleya aurantiaca.

    These plants can bloom when very small but the plant will continue to grow into a very large specimen.

    Is this a Dendrobium? Found another file picture of what I think is the same orchid from Costa Rica https://costa-rica-guide.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_8596.jpg
    Apparently Lankester Botanic Gardens has a world class orchid collection and does a lot of research. The (link) picture I posted is from that garden I am pretty sure.

    Alison, your link does show the same species but it isn't a Dendrobium. It is a Guarianthe (Cattleya) aurantiaca. It does grow in Costa Rica but Dendrobiums don't grow in the Americas.
