Kew lists V. tricolor, V. tricolor var. tricolor, and V. tricolor var. suavis all as accepted names. I don't know what the differences are so for now I am just calling mine Vanda tricolor. This is an infrequent bloomer for me. Grown very bright, intermediate and year-round water. I grow it hanging from a wire.

I have that same plant, it is deliciously fragant. As far as I know the suavis type only has two colors, unlike the nominate variety which has three.

If I had room for Vandas this would be one of the species. They grow into monsters after a few years and put on a great show.

I suspect that it is a hybrid and not a species. That can make it difficult to impossible to know with certainty what the parentage is.
