    well, if they are just spam robots, they certainly have received a lot more welcome messages than the real members.

    Are you talking about the welcome message from Brent on their profile? I notice that too while investigating some of the new members. I think every new member gets that, whether they are real or not. I'm just guessing that he is encouraging everyone to feel welcome and know who to contact if they have a problem. I don't think anyone gets a welcome from most of us unless they post. I guess you and I didn't get a welcome from Brent. I could write one on yours is you like. ;)

    LOL! well if you want to write me a welcome message, I will write you one too Marni. However, no need to waste time for that. I have been dealing with disappointments since the fake members have been counted as real members here.

    Those member accounts are not activated. Not sure what the big deal is here? The method that was used to register them has been blocked.

    The welcome messages are automatically generated. I also have disabled those messages in the future.

    Also, another reason this was happening is because Afghanistan is the first listed country in the drop down list. If no one changed it when it registered it would assign them that country. I have just removed this field completely until I can figure out why it is not showing a blank option first.

    I might be totally wrong about this but those fake members were created in similar fashion, perhaps by one individual? What about their DOB? They don't all fall in Jan. 1st, do they? To keep the integrity of this forum and be honest to the advertising clients, you should just delete those accounts and not counting those as members. How many fake members have been included in the total 1700 members? The number of membership has been doubled since you took over, but the activity level of this forum is still at minimum.

    All advertising on this site is based on content and not numbers related to forum members, posts or threads.

    Fake accounts are impossible to rid completely on forums and I also can not remove accounts in mass without possibly capturing legitimate accounts in the process.

    As stated, the flaw that allowed that to happen has been fixed and this should not be an issue going forward.
