I have this orchid growing in my yard. I don't see it every year. I believe it came in with the top soil or sand that was used to fill in my back yard. It was only after a few years of seeing it that I realized it was some type of orchid. The pictures I am posting are from a few years ago. This was the largest growth I have seen, and it was the last time I have seen it. I stay on the lookout for a new growth each spring, but I haven't seen it lately. I am in the greater Houston, Texas area. Let me know if you have any idea or suggestions as to the identity.

Thanks, spiro! I had it identified wrong before. Hard to believe something like this orchid would be considered an unwanted weed....according to one article I read about it.

You're welcome! Weed ,because it "doesn't belong here"!, but unwanted ?
    I like to think not!
